Married… With Children is a comedy series that was aired from 1987-97. The first season of the series was premiered on April 5, 1987. The first season of the series had thirteen episodes in it. In the first episode of the series, all the major character, i.e. the Bundy family and their neighbors are introduced to us. The Bundy family consists of Al, a chauvinist shoe salesman, his lazy housewife Peggy, their 15 year old dumb daughter, Kelly and their 12 year old con artist son Bud. In the very first episode of the series, Al wants to go for a basketball game with his co-worker from shoe store but his wife stops him from going there because she has invited their new neighbors, newly married couple Steve and Marcy Rhoades home for dinner. Al must choose between quietly obeying to his wife’s orders and following his heart and defying his wife. In the next episode, Marcy gives Peg a book called ‘Thinergy’, which can improve their live style. Peg then pushes her entire family to follow the diet chart, but no one is ready to do so. So it’s just Peg who is following the diet but it has made her very annoying. Steve then convinces Al to join the diet plan and then convince her to drop the diet plan.
In the next episode, Bundy’s and the Rhoades hear about the increasing theft in the nearby areas. Both the families decide to take some precautionary steps, while Rhoades buy a guard dog AL decides to buy a gun for security reasons. On one fateful night, Al accidentally kills the dog thinking that it was a burglar. Will this affect the relationship between the two neighbors? In the next episode, Steve and Marcy get some money from their tax refund and they plan to add another room to their house. But things get very miserable when Al and Steve wants the room for themselves, in order to play pool and Peg and Marcy want to use the room for their exercise. The argument continues with no definite answer to the solution. In the next episode, Steve and Al buy a 1965 Ford Mustang. Both of then are too attracted towards the car that they won’t spend a minute without it. All is fine but this is not accepted to their wives, as they are not paying any attention towards them. On the other hand, Marcy gets to experience something in the backseat of the Mustang that she has always wanted to do. But somehow Al comes to know about it, he won’t let her forget it.
In the next episode of the series, it’s 16th wedding anniversary of Al and Peg. No, Al has not forgotten it, but in fact he goes to buy her a gift. He wants to buy a very fancy watch for her, and when he goes to the shop, his credit card won’t let him buy one. [Read more...]
