Christina Applegate was born as the daughter of Robert W. Applegate and Nancy Lee Priddy. Her father worked as a record producer and record company executive while her mother was a singer and an actress. Christina’s parents separated soon after she was born. Later her father re-married and she has two half-siblings named Alisa and Kyle. After the divorce, her mother had a relationship with Stephen Stills, a well-known musician.
Her mother wrote a song especially for her named “Christina’s World”, that she also sang. Towards the end of her junior year, Christina passed the GED with flying colors. Later, she studied at the same high school as Milla Jovovich. She has also been a good friend of Friend of Nicole Eggert. Christina is a vegetarian and a supporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). She owns no less than three cats as well as a turtle that she calls Tibbell.
Christina also loves to read books about spirituality. She has also participated in various charity events and was a spokesperson for the Lee National Denim Day, a charity organization that raises funds for the education and research of breast cancer. In 1999, People’s magazine chose her amongst the 50 Most Beautiful People. She was named at the top of the list of the Most Beautiful People in 2009, by the People’s magazine.
Christina married Johnathon Schaech, who had been her boyfriend for a long time, in October 2001. Later, in November 2005, Schaech filed for divorce giving the reason that the couple had developed irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in August 2007. She is currently having a relationship with Martyn LeNoble.
2008 was a year full of struggles for Christina. In July 2008, her close friend Lee Grivas, who had also been her boyfriend at one time, was found dead in his apartment. The reason for his death was stated to be an overdose of drugs. In August 2008, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo double mastectomy, to prevent the illness from returning. By the mid of August, the doctors announced her to be cancer free.
Christina was seen on the television for the first time, when she was just three months old and appeared in a commercial for Playtex baby bottles as well as in the soap opera Days of Our Lives, with her mother. Later, she was seen on the big screen for the first time at the age of 7 years when she appeared in the movie Jaws of Satan which was followed two years later by Beatlemania.
Her other prominent movies include Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, Claudine’s Return, The Giving Tree, Heroes, Grand Theft Parsons, Surviving Christmas and The Rocker, etc. Her upcoming movies, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Going the Distance, Everything Is Going to Be Just Fine are currently in various stages of production.

In Married With Children, Christina plays the role of Kelly Bundy, the elder child of Al and Peggy Bundy. She is a immoral bimbo and a conventional dumb blonde, and as such is often called Pumpkin by her father Al. As the series progressed, Kelly became increasingly dumb. However, it is revealed that her personality had transformed after she banged her head during a road trip, before which she had been phenomenal reader. Kelly often tends deliberately put on a display of naivety and unawareness and the family willfully allows her to remain ignorant. Bud especially goes out of his way to implant misconceptions in her mind. And even though Kelly often pokes fun at Bud for being an immature, pubescent horndog, she frequently feels proud of him especially when he manages to get a good-looking date.
